Rubaga Friends encourages the development of friendly personal connections between Tucson and Rubaga alongside with the general support program activities.
From the beginning, a cooperation between Sam Hughes Elementary School in Tucson and the Rubaga Community School in Kampala has been a key stone of the Rubaga Friends program.
Exchange of letters, crafts, educational materials and other activities engage children at both schools. The students get hand-on knowledge of another part of the world with a different culture. The sister-school project also clearly brings for a day how place of birth may result in huge differences with regard to general living conditions and future outlook for the individual.
Rubaga Friends encourages and supports the cultural and educational sister-school activities. It is a very important part of the general support program.
